Proteomics has undergone a revolution in the past decade. Platforms like Olink and NULISA have made it possible to measure hundreds or thousands of proteins simultaneously from a few microliters of sample — with sensitivity that was unimaginable just years ago.
But access to these platforms has remained uneven. Large pharmaceutical companies and well-funded academic centers can afford dedicated instruments and full-time proteomics staff. Most researchers cannot.
Ascend Biosciences was founded to close that gap — offering the same platforms, the same sensitivity, and the same data quality, with the flexibility and personal service that a dedicated CRO can provide.
Ascend Biosciences was founded after seeing the same problem play out repeatedly in academic and biotech settings: researchers had compelling scientific questions that required ultrasensitive protein measurement, but access to the right platform was either prohibitively expensive, logistically complicated, or simply unavailable in a format that fit their study design.
Partial plate pricing for Olink Reveal wasn't widely available. Custom NULISA assay support was hard to come by. Turnaround times were unpredictable. And getting scientific guidance alongside the service itself was rare.
